FAQās
-
Interior designers, architects, retailers, and individual clients, on anything from a single piece to a full project.
-
It starts with an inquiry and a conversation about your project, followed by an initial quote. After the design direction has been agreed upon, a 50% deposit begins the project, and fabrication drawings are shared for sign-off within 2 weeks of the deposit. The remaining 50% is due upon completion and delivery.
-
Yes. Dimensions, finishes, and details can be adjusted for an additional fee.
-
Most pieces take 6ā8 weeks, depending on size and complexity. Your quote confirms the timeline for your project.
Payment & Pricing
-
Quotes reflect materials, fabrication time, complexity, and finish. Custom work is quoted per project and itemized by piece.
-
Payment is by ACH bank transfer, and other methods are available on request. Sales tax is added where applicable. Trade clients with a valid resale certificate can provide it at the time of order
Materials, Finish, & Care
-
We primarily work with responsibly sourced solid hardwoods such as white oak and walnut. We also work with metals including bronze, aluminum, and iron. Our preference is to work with 100% natural textiles that are free from harmful chemicals.
-
Pieces are finished with Rubio Monocoat hard wax oil, made with natural ingredients and 0% VOC. It bonds with the wood in a single application, so the grain and feel of the wood stay visible, and it needs no topcoat.
-
Dust regularly and wipe with a damp cloth and clean water. For deeper cleaning, use only Rubio Monocoat Soap or Surface Care Spray, no more than about once a week, and wipe up spills promptly. Every 3 to 5 years on average, sooner with heavy use, refresh the finish with Rubio Monocoat Renew. Bronze develops a natural patina and can be polished to restore its shine, and aluminum wipes clean with a damp cloth. Rubio Care.
-
Pieces are finished for interior use. Rubio Monocoat hard wax oil is not made for exterior exposure, so outdoor pieces would need a different finish and materials. Please inquire.
Custom Hardware
-
Yes. We design pulls, knobs, backplates, and small details in bronze, aluminum, iron, or wood. I typically begin with sketching the concept before refining with CAD models and 3D-printed prototypes to approve the form before it's made. Metal pieces are cast at a foundry in Los Angeles and finished by hand in the studio.
Consulting
-
Concept development, CAD and technical drawings, prototyping, vendor sourcing, and production oversight. I will help you take an idea from the first sketch to the finished object. Iām open to working with small studios or larger brands on projects.
Delivery & Shipment
-
The studio is based in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Local delivery and installation are available in the Bay Area and Los Angeles Metropolitan area. Smaller items can ship domestically, and large pieces are quoted individually for shipment.
-
Made-to-order and custom pieces are final sale. If there is a defect or damage to your piece, I will work with you to fix the piece.
